From day one, you will take part in a structured induction that builds essential skills and reflects the values that guide our work. We offer regular training, career support and a clear path to gaining the qualifications you need.
Qualification requirements vary between England and Wales due to regulation by Ofsted and CIW. We will guide you through what is needed for your location and support you every step of the way.
Area Manager
A capable and consistent leader who supports two homes, develops managers, and ensures care remains aligned with our values.
Area Managers must already have a Level 5 qualification for this role and a minimum of three years’ experience.
CIW Support Worker
A compassionate team member who provides hands-on, personalised care and builds meaningful connections with young people.
No experience necessary, but Support Workers must gain a Level 2 qualification within three years of starting their role.
Once they’ve completed the probationary period, Support Workers can gain the following qualifications:
- Level 2 Health & Social Care Practice – Children & Young People
- Level 3 Health & Social Care Practice – Children & Young People
CIW Deputy House Manager
An encouraging manager who has built strong relationships and is developing their leadership skills.
Deputy House Managers must already have a Level 3 qualification for this role.
Once they’ve completed the probationary period, Deputy House Managers have the opportunity to gain their Level 4 and 5 qualifications.

CIW House Manager
A confident leader who creates a safe, nurturing environment where both young people and staff can thrive.
House Managers must already have a Level 4 qualification for this role and be working towards a Level 5 qualification.
Once they’ve completed the probationary period, House Managers have the opportunity to gain their Level 5 qualification.

Level 2 Health & Social Care Practice
This qualification introduces learners to the core principles and values underpinning health and social care practice, specifically for children and young people. It covers topics such as safeguarding, health and well-being, professional practice, and health and safety. The course is suitable for individuals aged 16+ who are new to the sector or seeking to work in roles like healthcare support workers or social care assistants. It serves as a foundation for further study or employment within health and social care.
Level 3 Health & Social Care Practice
This practice-based qualification assesses learners’ knowledge and competence in the workplace, focusing on settings involving children and young people, such as residential child care or foster care. It includes both mandatory content and optional units, allowing learners to enrich their skills in areas like child-centred approaches and safeguarding. Completion of this qualification enables learners to work as qualified Level 3 practitioners with children and young people.
Level 4 Professional Practice in Health & Social Care
Designed for individuals aiming to develop their knowledge and skills required for professional practice within health or social care settings, this qualification offers various pathways, including leading practice with individuals living with mental ill-health, dementia, or disabilities. Assessment includes a portfolio of evidence, a project with written tasks, and professional discussions. It provides progression opportunities for those who have completed Level 3 qualifications in Health and Social Care.
Level 4 Preparing for Leadership & Management in Health & Social Care
This qualification supports aspiring staff transitioning into management roles within the health and social care sector. It covers legislation, theories and models of person/child-centred practice, theoretical frameworks for leadership and management, and effective team performance. Assessment involves a project with a written report, presentation, and discussion, along with a series of tasks requiring oral and written responses. The course serves as a stepping stone to Level 5 qualifications and meets registration requirements for Social Care Wales.
Level 5 Leadership & Management of Health & Social Care Practice
Aimed at individuals in senior or managerial roles within the health and social care sector, this practice-based qualification develops knowledge, understanding, behaviours, and skills required for leadership and management. It includes mandatory units on leading and managing service quality, safeguarding, and health and safety, along with optional units tailored to specific settings. The qualification requires a minimum of 120 credits and is suitable for those who have completed an appropriate Level 4 qualification.
